Private alcohol detox means accessing medically supervised withdrawal management outside the NHS, with no waiting list, on your own timeline, and in complete privacy. For Ash Rehab, private means more than the absence of a queue. It means a named clinician, an individualised programme, and a level of personalised attention that a system under pressure cannot always provide.

Our service is delivered to your home. There is no clinic to attend, no other patients, no shared ward. Just your clinical team, your space, and your programme.

Why it matters

Why choose private detox?

  • No waiting lists — assessment can take place the same day you contact us
  • Complete privacy — your name, situation, and medical details are never shared without explicit consent
  • Named clinician — you have a named prescriber and a named nurse, not a rota of unfamiliar faces
  • Individualised care — every aspect of your programme is tailored to your specific history and circumstances
  • Home-based — no travel, no disruption, no need to explain your absence to anyone
  • Comprehensive aftercare — relapse prevention, medication options, and onward referrals built in
How it works

A clear, supported programme
from first call to discharge.

01

Same-day assessment

In most cases, we can conduct your clinical assessment the same day you contact us. All assessments are by phone or secure video call — at a time that works for you.

02

Named clinician throughout

You deal with the same prescriber and the same nurse from your first call to your final visit. No rota, no handovers, no having to repeat yourself.

03

Individualised prescribing

Your medication plan is written by a GMC-registered prescriber specifically for you — based on your blood results, drinking history, and physical health.

04

Daily nurse home visits

An NMC-registered nurse visits every day. They monitor withdrawal, check vital signs, and communicate directly with your prescriber throughout your programme.

05

Complete confidentiality

Everything is handled in full compliance with UK GDPR. We do not share your information with employers, insurers, or family without your explicit written consent.

Common questions

Frequently asked
questions.

How is private detox different from NHS detox?+

Private detox offers no waiting lists, named clinicians, individualised programmes, home delivery, and a higher level of personalised attention. NHS services provide an equally valid pathway but with different resource constraints.

Is private detox covered by health insurance?+

This depends on your insurer and policy. An increasing number of health insurance policies cover private substance misuse treatment. We can provide the clinical documentation most insurers require for a prior authorisation request.

Will anyone need to be with me?+

Yes. A responsible adult must be present throughout your detox. This is a clinical safety requirement, not a preference.

What areas do you cover?+

Hertfordshire, London, Enfield, Watford, St Albans, and surrounding areas. Call us to confirm coverage for your specific postcode.

Confidential video assessment from home

A prescribing doctor.
From your sofa.

Your first assessment is a 25-minute video call with a GMC-registered prescriber. No waiting room, no clinic, no disclosure to anyone you have not chosen to tell. Four short questions, answered honestly, will tell us whether a home detox is the right setting for this moment in your life.
