You will be assessed for home alcohol treatment suitability within 24 hours. Evening and Saturday appointments are available. You will be assessed for appropriate home alcohol detox by a drug and alcohol specialist practitioner. If you experience physical withdrawal symptoms following a reduction or cession of alcohol consumption you will be offered medically assisted alcohol detoxification with a high level of supervision and close monitoring by our experienced clinician.

If medically assisted alcohol withdrawal is not appropriate (such as binge drinking) you will be advised and supported to safely reduce alcohol consumption over a period of days or weeks by gradually cutting down the units of alcohol consumption with or without medication and intensive structured support by the experienced clinician underpinned by enhanced social support and a planned schedule of reviews with the clinician on a regular basis.

Safety is key in deciding the right option for you.

It is important to note that detox alone is not sufficient to maintain long term recovery. Medically assisted detoxification is one component of bio-psychosocial comprehensive detox programme. Psychosocial element of the programme is recommended after detox as part of aftercare plan for relapse prevention support.
